In a statement made on Thursday 8th October, Ash Parish Council have announced the work they have been doing to curb fly tipping in the parish. They have been working in conjunction with Guildford Borough Council to issue Fixed Penalty Notices on people found to be fly tipping in the area. Ash Parish Council has made good use of their CCTV cameras to identify and bring to justice those who are committing these crimes.
Fly tipping is completely unacceptable, and we will continue to use the enforcement powers available to reduce this illegal behaviour and keep Ash Parish clean.
The effects on the environment and the cost to councils of fly tipping are two areas of concern, with the Aldershot Recycling Centre closing its doors to Ash Parish residents, it is unsurprising that the amount has increased locally. There are more offences currently being pursued.
