The work-life balance takes on a whole meaning right now. If you’re a boss, it’s important you understand how your staff are trying to manage at home and finding a good balance between the new demands of home and work with the new “COVID normal”.
To achieve this it’s really important to discuss the situation, and that both people in the conversation show understanding and empathy for each other.
Engaging in dialogue is more likely to result in a better result for everyone and for the employee coming up with concrete ideas which are more likely to get a yes. In short, we all need to listen more, and understand that things are only going to get harder for everyone.
