For Christmas 2020 the Watercress Line is running a special service during December. The Steam Illuminations is the world’s first pixel mappable digital LED train! This means all 13,174 LED lights are fully programmable which as the video shows is rather impressive. Those lucky ticket holders also have LED wristbands to make you apart from the light show !

Together with the lights, traditional music will be played along with the to enhance the experience. Trains depart from either Alresford or Alton offering a round trip along the 10 mine line.

Commonly know as the  known as the ‘Watercress Line’ due its historical links to transporting watercress from the water beds in Alresford up to London and beyond, The Mid Hants Railway Ltd operate a not for profit preservation railway for the enjoyment of its visitors.
